Wonder Woman is the 4th Highest Grossing Female Superhero

After the smashing success of “Wonder Woman,” Gal Gadot becomes a part of the most elite film franchise and continues to bring in substantial box office numbers through her movie. Currently, Wonder Woman is one of the highest grossing action heroines, ranking fourth with a domestic total of $213 million. The movie has passed 2014’s blockbuster “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” which brought in $200 million in its first two weeks. Katniss Everdeen made the headlines with her beautiful performance in the “Terminator” sequel.



Wonder Woman – a successful female superhero

Later on, Jennifer Lawrence played the lead in “Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2,” a movie that grossed $281 million in its first two weeks at the box office. “Mockingjay Part 1” grossed $337 million, and the original “Hunger Games” made over $205 million its first two weeks. “Catching Fire,” on the other hand, became a major hit of the year by grossing $423 million in its first two weeks.

Everdeen’s movie “Rouge One: A Star Wars Story” brought in over $530 million. She sits at #2 behind the female lead of “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.” Wonder Woman would need a lot more time to catch Rey as her film brought in over $935 million. Directed by Patty Jenkins, “Wonder Woman” features Gal Gadot as Diana Princes. The actress was five-month pregnant during the shooting, but she did not compromise on the quality of her film. Gal Gadot describes her character as full of strengths, powers, humbleness, and courage.

A little about the character

Before she becomes a Wonder WomanGadot lives her life as an ordinary girl (Diana) who is ready to accept all challenges in life. Finally, a moment comes when Diana observes that she got supernatural powers and can act as a warrior. Fighting alongside men in a battle to end all battles, Diana discovers her powers and decides to serve the humanity. Gal Gadot told that she underwent a strict diet and learned martial arts to be a fit for the role.




Gal hesitated to play a female superhero in the beginning. But Beyonce motivated Gadot to accept the challenge, so she accepted the movie proposal. “Wonder Woman” is written by Geoff Johns, Zack Snyder, and Allan Heinberg. In addition to Gal Gadot, the film features Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, David Thewlis, Lucy Davis, Doutzen Kroes, Said Taghmaoui, Ewen Bremmer, and Emily Carey. Through this film, Patty Jenkins has broken box office records and opens the doors of Hollywood for herself. The Warner Bros. movie grossed over $102 million in its opening weekend.
